boxom is a record of what you have and when you thought it would go off. It is useful because you keep it up to date.
boxom is not a source of truth about food safety. A date in boxom is the date you entered or the date printed on the pack, carried forward by a rule of thumb once the pack is open. It is not an inspection. Look at the food, smell it, and use your judgement. Never decide that something is safe to eat because boxom has not warned you about it.
Names, brands, sizes, categories, nutrition figures and photographs come from Open Food Facts, a community database that anyone may contribute to. It is generous and it is imperfect. Entries can be wrong, out of date, or missing.
Always read the pack for allergens. If someone in your household reacts to an ingredient, the packaging in your hand is the authority, never the screen.
Five days, up to 200 items, everything unlocked, and no card. When it ends nothing is deleted: your items wait for you, and you can read and remove them whether or not you subscribe.
3.99 EUR a month, renewing monthly until you stop it. You can cancel at any time, from inside the app, and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not ask why and we do not put a retention flow in the way.
If we ever change the price, you will be told before it applies to you, and you can leave.
If you live in the European Union you have fourteen days from subscribing to withdraw, without giving a reason. Tell us at info@theboxom.com and we will refund you.
If you ask us to start the service immediately, you keep that right but we may charge for the part you used before you withdrew.
Your inventory, your lists and your history belong to you. We claim no ownership of them and we do not use them to build anything else. Export them whenever you like.
The catalogue, the app and the site are ours or our licensors'.
Do not try to break it, overload it, pull the catalogue out of it wholesale, or use it to do something illegal. Do not add another household to yours without their agreement. We may suspend an account that does these things, and we will say why.
We keep boxom running as well as we reasonably can, but we do not promise it will never be down, never be slow, and never be wrong. Your phone keeps working when ours does not: what you have already scanned stays readable.
We are responsible for what we do wrong, up to what you have paid us in the twelve months before it happened. We are not responsible for indirect losses, nor for a decision you made about whether food was safe.
Nothing here removes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law does not let us exclude, and nothing here takes away the rights consumer law gives you.
Hungarian law applies. If you are a consumer you keep every protection your own country's law gives you, and you may bring a case where you live.
